New Year’s Resolution – Give Back to the Community

Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla Holds Open House for Prospective Volunteers

Volunteering can be a rewarding life experience, it gets you involved in your community and makes you part of a longstanding American tradition. From volunteer fire departments to local schools, to libraries and other entities, non-profit organizations survive because of volunteer efforts. Likewise, volunteers are a vital part of the day-to-day existence at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla.

The Volunteer Services Department at Scripps La Jolla will be hosting an open house for San Diegans interested in giving back to their community. Volunteers at Scripps La Jolla gain valuable experience, learn new skills and make new friends. There are a wide-range of volunteer jobs to choose, including:

  • Working in the hospital gift shop
  • Delivering flowers
  • Greeting patients and family members
  • Assisting nurses
