Internal medicine specialist, Mark Bulgarelli, DO, strives to empower patients through education and believes that high quality health care is the result of an individual’s active participation in the health care process. Dr. Bulgarelli is committed to his practice and is a proponent of both traditional and non-traditional paths to emotional and physical well-being.
Dr. Bulgarelli has a broad background in healthcare. Prior to becoming a physician he worked as a physical therapist, caring for patients with general orthopedic and neurologic conditions. He later expanded his expertise to include sports injury prevention and rehabilitation.
After completion of his medical training in 1993, Dr. Bulgarelli joined the National Health Service Corps. He worked in rural North Carolina for several years and moved to San Diego in 1999. Prior to joining Scripps in 2008, he was a general internist in the Barrio Logan community of San Diego.
Away from the office, Dr. Bulgarelli enjoys sports, exercise, spending time with his children and playing with his dog.
