Biography

Dr. Paul Phillips specializes in cardiovascular disease, critical care medicine, interventional cardiology and statin myopathy. He conducts research to better understand coronary stents and toxic muscle reactions to statins and antipsychotic therapies. Dr. Phillips is a clinical professor of medicine at the UC San Diego School of Medicine and a Skaggs Scholar at The Scripps Research Institute. He is a past recipient of the Ralph P. George Teacher of the Year Award from the house staff at Scripps Mercy Hospital.
