Biography

Craig Uejo, MD, MPH, is the chief quality officer (CQO) and medical director for systemwide infection prevention/epidemiology, employee health, worker’s compensation, employee care and wellness at Scripps Health. These complementary leadership positions allows Dr. Uejo to focus on providing the highest quality of care, creating the safest patient and employee environment and ensuring our standards and policies are followed in accordance with the regulatory standards assigned to healthcare organizations.  


In addition to providing this leadership for the Scripps Health system, Dr. Uejo maintains his occupational and preventive medicine clinical practice with a focus on worker’s compensation injuries, wellness, disability management and employee health. 


Dr. Uejo believes that taking care of patients is a privilege. His philosophy of care is based on trust between the patient and physician. This includes treating patients as individuals, with varying expectations, personalities and cultural differences. 


When he is not working, Dr. Uejo enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, playing pickleball and snow skiing.
