The Kids Care Hospice team, comprised of pediatric hospice specialists, are dedicated to relieving your child’s discomfort and improving his or her quality of life. They help to manage physical symptoms so your child is comfortable and provide much-needed emotional support for you and your family.
The Kids Care team from Scripps and Rady Children’s create individualized care plans that take into account the wishes and needs of you and your family. Each plan is developmentally appropriate for infants, children, adolescents or young adults with life-limiting illnesses.
Using a holistic approach, the hospice team addresses the emotional and spiritual needs of you, your family and your child. They offer individualized counseling for those affected by your child’s illness, and can be there for you in your community. The team is open to providing support in your child’s school and other organizations in which your family is involved.
The Kids Care team includes clinician and support staff from Rady Children’s and Scripps. It includes physicians board certified in hospice and palliative medicine; specially trained nurses; social workers and spiritual counselors.
They work closely with your primary care physician, specialty teams and hospitalists to help ease the burden of coordinating care so you can focus on spending time with your child and family.
Kids Care serves all of San Diego County and can support you and your child in any care setting, including the home, the hospital or a skilled nursing facility. The entire team understands that every moment spent with your child is precious. As they partner with you to provide care for your child, they strive toward days full of living and love.
