CBS 8 News recently spoke with Alison Meagher about how food and fitness can help reduce the risk of developing cancer. More than 2 million people in the United States are expected to be diagnosed with cancer this year, and about 18% of those cases will be related to areas like nutrition, body weight and physical activity. Meagher shared practical tips about foods and exercise habits that can help lower the risk of developing cancer and other diseases. Meagher is a senior registered dietitian with Scripps Cancer Center and is also a certified personal trainer with a master’s degree in exercise physiology.
