About

Scripps Green Hospital

A tradition of excellence

Since its founding in 1977, Scripps Green Hospital has served the La Jolla and other San Diego communities with distinction. Throughout our history, we’ve been recognized for a variety of medical “firsts” – such as offering San Diego’s first liver transplant program, and being one of the nation’s first hospitals to use stem cell transplants as a treatment for blood and marrow disorders.

Today we continue the tradition of offering only the highest quality health care, including comprehensive cancer treatment, cardiology, orthopedic surgery, and bariatric surgery.

A model of comprehensive care

The spectrum of services available on the Scripps Green Hospital campus includes some of the finest health care San Diego has to offer. Connected to our 173-bed hospital is Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines, home to more than 50 medical and surgical specialties including an on-site pharmacy, and lab.

We also share our campus with Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine, whose care is nationally recognized for blending the best of complementary therapies with conventional medicine.

A valuable partnership

Scripps Green Hospital has a close working relationship with physicians from Scripps Clinic Medical Group. Through this unique partnership, many Scripps Clinic physicians perform a variety of surgeries and other procedures at Scripps Green Hospital.

And most Scripps Clinic patients who need to be admitted to the hospital for medical care or observation are admitted to Scripps Green Hospital. This allows for easier collaboration between a patient’s referring physician and the variety of Scripps Clinic and Scripps Green Hospital specialists involved in his or her hospital care.
