Your Personalized Weight Loss Plan Starts with You
During an initial consultation at Scripps Clinic Weight Management Center in Del Mar or La Jolla, a board-certified physician will review your health history and discuss your weight loss goals. Afterward, you’ll be partnered with a team of professionals who are trained to identify the causes of weight problems and the most effective solutions to help you look and feel your best.
During treatment, you may undergo the following:
- Metabolic testing
Each patient seen will be evaluated for any metabolic conditions that could negatively impact weight loss. Screening may include tests for insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome and polycystic ovarian disease (PCOS). We also offer resting metabolic rate testing to individually define how many calories your body burns in a day and can tailor a diet plan to ensure weight loss.
- Dietary consultation
During a dietary consultation with a registered dietitian who specializes in weight management and obesity, you will get a chance to review your daily eating habits and learn how to make small changes that can ultimately have a large impact on your overall weight and health.
- Medication review
The medical team will review current medications you are taking to determine if they could be causing weight gain. They will discuss alternatives, and also determine if you are candidate for weight loss medications.
Ongoing weight loss support
Frequent interaction with the center’s medical team and individualized eating plans can improve your chances for long-term weight loss success. With that in mind, Scripps Clinic Center for Weight Management provides ongoing support during your weight loss efforts. Classes and programs include the following:
- Living Lite Program
Weekly phone coaching and classes at three locations can help provide you the strategic, motivational and supportive tools that help you lose weight and produce long-term weight management. With three convenient locations (Carlsbad, Del Mar or Rancho Bernardo), the program costs $48 per month.
- Partial Meal Replacement Plan
Proven to be highly effective in losing weight, the partial meal replacement plan replaces two meals a day with enriched, high protein bars and/or shakes. The center provides menu suggestions for your main meal.
- Beginning Fitness
A free 60 minute seminar, Beginning Fitness gives participants a chance to learn about the characteristics of successful exercisers and confront their own personal obstacles in maintaining an active lifestyle.
