It is the policy of Scripps Health to cooperate with all government and accreditation agencies while protecting the rights of Scripps Health, its employees and patients. 

For law enforcement, such government agencies include the following examples: 

• Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)
• Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)
• Local law enforcement agencies (e.g., municipal police, county sheriffs’ offices, tribal police forces and regional police forces)
• US Marshals

All subpoenas must be hand-delivered to 10790 Rancho Bernardo Rd., San Diego, CA 92127. All court orders, search warrants and general inquiries from these agencies should be submitted digitally through our email address at lawenforcementrelations@scrippshealth.org. This email is monitored Monday through Friday, 7 am to 6 pm, and only intermittently after hours and on weekends. Responses may not be immediate but can be expected within hours above. 

Only valid email addresses from .gov, .mil, and .org accounts will be accepted.

For law enforcement inquiries regarding medical records, we request that you utilize our designated medical records request page.

This streamlined process ensures that all necessary information is provided for a prompt and efficient response.

Instructions for laboratory specimens

For subpoena, warrant or court orders for laboratory specimens (i.e. blood) requests must be submitted to the site team below for approval and next steps:
