San Diego – Amidst shopping for stunning fashion and sipping fine wines, guests at the Circle of Life 100 Celebration: Wine, Women & Shoes helped raise more than $100,000 on Sept. 16, 2010, to support women’s diagnostic imaging technology at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.

The event was held at the Rancho Santa Fe estate of longtime philanthropists and community leaders Laura and Fred Applegate. NBC 7/39 news anchor Susan Taylor served as master of ceremonies for the evening’s live auction, which featured one-of-a-kind items, including a trip for six to Napa Valley.

All proceeds from the evening benefit breast-specific gamma imaging at Scripps Encinitas. The nonprofit hospital will be one of only a few hospitals in California providing access to this non-invasive technology, which is used to detect breast cancer.

Circle of Life 100 is a service organization that advocates for health education and philanthropy in support of Scripps Encinitas.
