Scripps Named One of the Best Companies for Employee Learning Programs

The Elearning! Media Group has named Scripps one of the 60 best corporations in the nation for learning and development programs; ranking number five on the 2012 private sector list. Scripps was recognized two years in a row for outstanding learning performance, and was the only healthcare system recognized out of the top five.

Scripps was recognized for advancing innovation through performance learning programs that improve health care cost management. Last year, Scripps invested $30 million on employee learning and development.

The Learning! 100 Award program, instituted over the past year by Elearning! Media Group, is aimed at recognizing 100 organizations in the corporate and public sectors for their best-in-class learning and development programs. Award recipients were selected based on programs of outstanding learning, innovation or collaboration that drives performance. Honorees cut across all industries and organization sizes from 24 to 1.6 million employees.

The Learning! 100 Award program has a solid research-based approach that offers firms a level playing field despite size, and post-awards learning opportunities to improve firm rankings in subsequent years. Learning! 100 applicants were evaluated across three criteria: Aberdeen Group’s Best-in-Class Learning & Development assessment, EMG’s Learning Culture index, and overall organizational performance. Each submission received a rating for each section and scores were totaled to identify the top 100. The Learning! 100 ranking was determined by overall performance and the impact of their learning leadership.
