Over the Holidays, California Couple Celebrates the Gift of Proton Therapy

The Record Searchlight newspaper recently published an article about longtime Redding, Calif. residents Joyce and Joe Hampton, who both underwent successful cancer treatments at the Scripps Proton Therapy Center. Both have returned to full health and are ready to celebrate the holiday season.

Proton therapy is an extremely precise form of external beam radiation treatment that effectively kills tumors, while sparing more of a patient’s healthy tissue than conventional X-ray radiation. This accuracy lowers the probability of patients experiencing side effects and treatment-related cancers.
