Scripps Mercy group raises funds to provide life-changing surgeries to needy children in Mexico

The Sixth Annual Mercy Outreach Surgical Team (M.O.S.T.) Mariachi Festival, presented by Scripps Mercy Hospital Foundation, will be held Saturday, June 3, from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay.

The event will feature Mexican cuisine, live Mariachi music, folkloric dancers, live and silent auctions and an opportunity to fund a surgery for someone in great need. Proceeds will benefit M.O.S.T., a group of physicians, nurses, technical and administrative staff members who volunteer to provide life-changing surgeries to children with limited or no access to health care in Mexico.

The humanitarian organization relies on philanthropy to conduct its weeklong missions in central and southern Mexico, where it corrects cleft lips and palates, fixes crossed eyes and treats other conditions. More than 10,000 patients have been served since M.O.S.T. formed in 1988.

Tickets are $100 per person. For more information about the event, tickets, sponsorship or donating auction items, please contact Special Events at hartman.benita@scrippshealth.org or (858) 678-6814.
