Statement from Scripps Health

On March 9, Scripps Health was notified by San Diego County Public Health Services that a patient at Scripps Green Hospital had tested presumptive positive for COVID-19.

Scripps had contacted county health officials and a test was administered. Confirmation of the diagnosis is currently pending from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

As a cautionary measure, we have taken immediate steps to identify staff who may have been exposed and place them on home quarantine as appropriate with our full support, and we will provide additional staffing as needed. We are also assisting the county in identifying anyone not on Scripps’ staff who may have been exposed. If identified, the county will provide notification and manage those cases.

Scripps Green Hospital and the adjacent Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines are safe for patient care and all appointments and procedures are continuing as usual at both facilities.
