Visitors can be good medicine for patients in the hospital. However, patient safety and quality of care are of utmost importance at Scripps Health. With that in mind, there are times when a patient’s visitors may need to be limited.
General visiting hours are 8 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. daily, but may vary depending on the unit. Please call the hospital for specific times and restrictions.
In an effort to protect patients and staff from the flu, Scripps Health puts a number of interim visitor restrictions in place at its five hospital campuses in San Diego County when pandemic flu is present in the community. The effective dates of flu restrictions will be posted on this page during such periods.
- All visitors will be screened. Visitors showing symptoms of influenza-like illness will be asked to leave.
- Children ages 14 and under will not be allowed to enter the hospital unless they are patients receiving treatment or have appointments. This includes lobbies, dining facilities and common areas.
- Hospitalized patients will be limited to four visitors per day.
Exceptions may be made for special circumstances. Please talk to a charge nurse or department supervisor for more information.
