Conference Overview

Clinical Advances in the Diagnosis and Management of Pulmonary Hypertension will educate clinicians on all PH types. Expert faculty will discuss the epidemiology of PH, diagnosis of PH, and the poor outcomes associated with untreated PH. The conference will provide clinicians with an understanding of the difference between PAH and PH associated with left heart disease. Strategies for PH types will be presented, along with new therapies recommended for HFpEF and treatments for right ventricular failure. Participants will return to their practice equipped with the latest evidence base and practical information to improve patient outcomes.

  • Describe clinical factors and necessary tests to establish a diagnosis of PH.
  • Recognize the difference between PAH and PH associated with HFpEF.

Cultural & Linguistic Competency and Implicit Bias

This activity is designed to include curriculum addressing the topics of cultural and linguistic competency (CLC) and implicit bias (IB) in compliance with California Business and Professions (B&P) Code Section 2190. All those involved in the planning and execution of this activity have been asked to identify and discuss issues relevant to the topics being covered. In addition, a variety of resources are available that address cultural and linguistic competency and implicit bias. A resource document can be downloaded from the Conference Details section above.

Maintenance of Certification

American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.


MOC points will be awarded to physicians who successfully complete the requirements outlined in the post-activity evaluation. Points earned will be reported to the appropriate specialty board approximately 60 days post conference as long as all learner requirements are met. These credits will not appear on your CME certificate from Scripps.

Attendance and Cancellation Policies

Attendee Cancellation, Substitution and Refund

The course tuition is refundable, minus a $50 processing fee if your cancellation is received in writing no later than Friday, January 5, 2024. Attendee substitutions are allowed, but notification must be made in writing by Friday, January 5, 2024. After this date, under no circumstances will refunds, credits, or substitutions be granted. No refunds or credits will be given to “no shows.” No refunds shall be made for cancellations due to inclement weather.


Registration Changes

All registration changes (virtual to in-person or in-person to virtual) are subject to a $50 change fee when received within two weeks of the conference.


Scripps Conference Modification or Cancellation

Scripps reserves the right to modify the course’s schedule or program as necessary. Scripps also reserves the right to cancel this conference, in which case a full refund of the registration fee will be provided. Attendees who purchase non-refundable airline tickets do so at their own risk. Scripps encourages the purchase of travel insurance as we are unable to refund any travel costs (flight, hotel, etc.) in the case of Scripps cancellation.


Health and Safety Waiver and Assumption of Risk

By completion and submission of the online registration form, attendees certify that they have read and fully understand the Health and Safety Waiver and Assumption of Risk Agreement.


Family and Guest Attendance Policy

All conference activities and meals are exclusively reserved for paid conference attendees. Children and family members are not allowed to attend meal functions or permitted in the meeting space.


Recording and Photography Clause

Scripps reserves exclusive rights to record (audio and video) and/or photograph all conference proceedings for use in marketing materials, presentations and course content sales.
