David Leopold, MD, director of medical education at Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine, says skipping meals can be beneficial to reducing symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and auto-immune diseases. Dr. Leopold says mini-fasts are particularly effective when followed by a vegan diet.
