Scripps Integrative Experts Discuss Women’s Health in San Diego Magazine

Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine tailors treatment to meet the needs of women

In a 2007 article in San Diego Magazine called “From East to West,” Mimi Guarneri, MD, cardiologist and medical director of Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine, and Vivian Ellis, DO, OB/GYN, discuss how the center tailors treatment to meet the needs of women.

Dr. Ellis says treatment becomes integrative when it takes into account “all the aspects of a woman’s lifestyle, all the seasons of a woman’s life and all the layers of mind, body and spirit. This can include behavior modification to help her in achieving her goals, techniques like meditation, yoga, paying attention to personal relationships and stress management, diet, exercise, education, vitamins and coaching.”
