Partnership Helps Homeless Get Back on Their Feet
After Medical Care, a Helping Hand
A partnership between Scripps Health and Catholic Charities is helping San Diego’s homeless recover from illness and injury, and get back on their feet. Scripps Mercy Hospital provides medical care to homeless patients, while Catholic Charities offers housing, transportation and case management. The program even steers participants toward drug and alcohol abuse treatment, and employment opportunities.
Davis Cracroft, MD, senior medical director at Scripps Mercy Hospital, and a recent participant discuss the program and its encouraging results.
