Scripps Wellderly Study the Focus of Article in San Diego Magazine

The 2008 San Diego Magazine article, "Will We Live Forever?," is not available at this time.

The story takes a look at the promising field of genetic medicine, and cites Dr. Eric Topol, director of Scripps Genomic Medicine, whose work hopes to uncover the genetic components that keep people healthy.

Dr. Topol is the principal investigator of the Welderly Study, which is recruiting 2,000 health elderly volunteers to donate genetic samples. The samples will be databased and examined for clues to lifelong health and disease resistance.
