Scripps Provides Insights into Traumatic Injury Prevention

Traumatic injury is the leading cause of death in the U.S. for those 44 and younger, but many of these injuries can potentially be avoided. Scripps Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Brent Eastman appeared on the San Diego 6 Morning News to discuss practical tips for people to help lower their risk of experiencing traumatic injuries.

Dr. Eastman also discusses the success of the San Diego Regional Trauma System, which has reduced preventable deaths in San Diego from 22 percent to 2 percent since being deployed 25 years ago. Scripps operates two of the county’s five adult trauma centers.
