Coast News Interviews Scripps Expert on Palliative Medicine, End-of-Life Planning

In a recent article in the Coast News, Donald Ritt, MD, discussed the importance of advance planning for patients to communicate their wishes for end-of-life care. He explained how people can benefit from completing a document called a Physician Order for Life-Sustaining Treatment, or POLST. Dr. Ritt also addressed the benefits of palliative medicine, which eases suffering and can augment curative therapies.
