Scripps Cardiologist Eric Topol Nominated for Most Influential Physician List

For the fifth year in a row, Scripps Health cardiologist and Chief Academic Officer Eric Topol, MD, has been nominated for Modern Healthcare magazine’s annual list of the “50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders.”

Online voting is now open, and balloting will continue through Feb. 19.

Dr. Topol, who also directs the Scripps Translational Science Institute, is a leading expert in the fast-emerging field of digital medicine. His most recent book on the topic, “The Patient Will See You Now: The Future of Medicine in in Your Hands,” currently is ranked No. 1 by Amazon among Biotechnology books and No. 5 among Physician & Patient Clinical Medicine titles.

Modern Healthcare voters will choose from among 150 nominees for the annual list of influential physician executives. The final list of top 50 physicians will be based in equal parts on the total vote count and input from the magazine’s senior editors.

The final list will be published April 4.
