Efforts to screen more young athletes for sudden cardiac arrest risk gained traction recently with the signing of a new law in California, according to an article published by The San Diego Union-Tribune.

Scripps Clinic cardiologist John Rogers, MD, who was quoted in the article, has played a leading role in the campaign to spread screenings throughout the state.
