Despite two decades of research using stem cells to treat heart problems, Scripps Clinic cardiologist Richard Schatz, MD, told the San Diego Union-Tribune recently that scientists still haven't found a proven method that works in humans.
Dr. Schatz's own research efforts in this field reach back more than a dozen years.
