Scripps Health heart failure specialist Ajay Srivastava, MD, recently participated in a press conference with Scripps cardiology patient Rod Carew to discuss his recent heart transplant.

Carew, a Major League Baseball Hall of Famer, has been treated by Scripps cardiologists for the last two and a half years since having a major heart attack and developing life-threatening heart failure.

The press conference also featured family members of a former NFL player whose heart was donated to Carew after his untimely death.
