Scripps Ranked 4th Most Important Company in San Diego Region

Scripps Health is the fourth most important company to the San Diego region's economy and the most important health care provider, according to a new list by Our City San Diego magazine.

"Unlike other San Diego health care providers, Scripps has been ranked one of the top five large health systems in the U.S. by Truven Health Analytics," the magazine reported. "It's ranked No. 1 in San Diego by U.S. News & World Report, which also ranks it nationally for eight specialties, including cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology."

Qualcomm Inc. topped the local magazine's list.
