Scripps Primary Care Doctor and Patient Share Story on Importance of Checkups

Tom Bassett is thankful to be in good health today after a routine visit to his primary care physician last year led to testing that revealed he had blockage in his heart and a subsequent angioplasty and stent placement.

The Solana Beach man and his primary care physician, Christen Benke, DO, family medicine specialist at Scripps Clinic Del Mar, recently shared their story with the Del Mar Times to help raise awareness of the importance of the routine checkup.
