Federal food recommendations updated in the fall

A recent San Diego Union-Tribune article featured comments from Scripps Coastal Medical Center Jefferson family medicine specialist Jennifer Chronis, MD, about federal dietary guidelines that were updated in the fall.

Dr. Chronis said the guidelines shouldn’t be used uniformly, especially by those with chronic diseases who may need a more specialized diet that is geared toward their individual needs.
