Leadership development, investments in staff are key
Scripps Health recently earned a spot on Fortune magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list. Becker’s Hospital Review magazine interviewed Scripps President and CEO Chris Van Gorder to learn how the health system consistently ranks among America’s best employers.
One key has been the Scripps Leadership Academy, a yearlong training program for middle managers Van Gorder launched over 20 years ago. Scripps also offers various career development and transition programs and is leading efforts to reduce hospital workplace violence.
