The liver performs dozens of vital tasks every moment of every day, and physicians at Scripps Health are working to develop better treatments for liver disease. Collaborating with basic research facilities, like The Scripps Research Institute, our physicians combine biomedical research with clinical trials to uncover the underlying causes of disease and translate those findings into new treatments.
In addition, researchers are collaborating with Scripps Genomic Medicine and the Scripps Translational Science Institute to better understand the genetics underlying liver diseases.
Recent studies at Scripps Health have investigated:
- Liver failure
- Liver transplantation
