Learn important information to help you prepare for labor and birth of your child.
This condensed format is designed to provide an overview of key concepts and practical tools to support your birth experience.
Topics covered include:
• Understanding the stages of labor and what to expect
• Common medical procedures and medications
• An introduction to comfort techniques and partner support strategies
• Cesarean birth
• Postpartum – also known as the fourth trimester
Please note: comfort techniques are introduced in this class, with expanded practice available in our Comfort Measures course.
It is recommended that you attend this class when you are approximately 28–32 weeks along in your pregnancy.
This class meets for one session and includes a 30-minute break.
Bring two pillows, a blanket, and a snack/beverage to class.
Expectant partners are encouraged to attend together – one registration per couple is required.
