Conference Overview

Scripps Cancer Center’s Annual Cancer Care Symposium is tailored for nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinical nurse specialists, and other healthcare professionals who care for cancer patients. Over the course of this two-day conference, attendees will learn from expert faculty representing various practice settings across the continuum of care, as they discuss the latest clinical developments and treatment advancements in hematology and oncology. Participants will leave equipped with practical strategies and tools to enhance the quality of life and outcomes for cancer patients. Additionally, the symposium will address the importance of self-care and professional resilience.

Referral Discount

Register and refer a friend who also registers and both of you will receive 10% off the prevailing registration rates. Each of you will be charged the full registration fee until your friend(s) register and pay for the conference. There is no limit to the amount of friends you refer, however, 10% is the maximum discount you will receive on the prevailing registration rate. This offer cannot be combined with any other offers or discounts. Referral discount valid thru October 7, 2025.

Accreditation and Disclosures

Board of Registered Nursing

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number 15199 for 14 Contact Hours. No partial hours will be given.

 

BRN Contact Hours Breakdown:

Day 1 – General Oncology Nursing: 7.0 contact hours

Day 2 – Advanced Practice: 7.0 contact hours


Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation

The program content has been reviewed by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) and is acceptable for recertification points.

 

Disclaimer: ONCC review is only for designating content to be used for ILNA points and is not for NCPD accreditation. NCPD programs must be formally approved for contact hours by an acceptable accreditor/approver of nursing NCPD to be used for recertification by ONCC. If the NCPD provider fails to obtain formal approval to award contact hours by an acceptable accrediting/approval body, no information related to ONCC recertification or ILNA categories may be used in relation to the program.

Cultural & Linguistic Competency and Implicit Bias

This activity is designed to include curriculum addressing the topics of cultural and linguistic competency (CLC) and implicit bias (IB) in compliance with California Business and Professions (B&P) Code Section 2190. All those involved in the planning and execution of this activity have been asked to identify and discuss issues relevant to the topics being covered. In addition, a variety of resources are available that address cultural and linguistic competency and implicit bias. A resource document can be downloaded from the Conference Details section above.

Attendance and Cancellation Policies

Attendee Cancellation, Substitution, Refund

The course tuition is refundable, minus a $100 processing fee (RN, NP, PA) or a $75 processing fee (Day Rate, Student, Scripps), if your cancellation is received in writing no later than Friday, September 26, 2025. Attendee substitutions are allowed, but notification must be made in writing by Friday, September 26, 2025. After this date, under no circumstances will refunds, credits, or substitutions be granted. No refunds or credits will be given to “no shows.”


Scripps Conference Modification or Cancellation

Scripps reserves the right to modify the course’s schedule or program as necessary. Scripps also reserves the right to cancel this conference, in which case a full refund of the registration fee will be provided. Attendees who purchase non-refundable airline tickets do so at their own risk. Scripps encourages the purchase of travel insurance as we are unable to refund any travel costs (flight, hotel, etc.) in the case of Scripps cancellation.

Family and Guest Attendance Policy

All conference activities and meals are exclusively reserved for paid conference attendees. Children and family members are not allowed to attend meal functions or permitted in the meeting space.


Recording and Photography Clause

Scripps reserves exclusive rights to record (audio and video) and/or photograph all conference proceedings for use in marketing materials, presentations and course content sales.
