Scripps MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Annual Cancer Care Symposium is designed for nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinical nurse specialists, and other health care professionals who treat cancer patients. During this two-day conference, participants will hear from expert faculty representing practice settings across the continuum of care as they discuss clinical developments and treatment advances in hematology and oncology. Participants will return to practice armed with practical strategies and tools to assist in improving quality of life and outcomes for cancer patients. The importance of self-care and professional resilience will also be addressed during the conference. Cultural & Linguistic Competency and Implicit Bias
This activity is designed to include curriculum addressing the topics of cultural and linguistic competency (CLC) and implicit bias (IB) in compliance with California Business and Professions (B&P) Code Section 2190. All those involved in the planning and execution of this activity have been asked to identify and discuss issues relevant to the topics being covered. In addition, a variety of resources are available that address cultural and linguistic competency and implicit bias. A resource document can be downloaded from the Conference Details section above.
Attendee Cancellation, Substitution, Refund
The course tuition is refundable, minus a $100 processing fee (RN, NP, PA, Scripps) or a $50 processing fee (Day Rate, Student), if your cancellation is received in writing no later than Friday, September 13, 2024. Attendee substitutions are allowed, but notification must be made in writing by Friday, September 13, 2024. After this date, under no circumstances will refunds, credits, or substitutions be granted. No refunds or credits will be given to “no shows.”
Scripps Conference Modification or Cancellation
Scripps reserves the right to modify the course’s schedule or program as necessary. Scripps also reserves the right to cancel this conference, in which case a full refund of the registration fee will be provided. Attendees who purchase non-refundable airline tickets do so at their own risk. Scripps encourages the purchase of travel insurance as we are unable to refund any travel costs (flight, hotel, etc.) in the case of Scripps cancellation.

Family and Guest Attendance Policy
