Circle of Life 100 Fashion Show Raises Record-Breaking $600,000

Benefits Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas

Raising a record-breaking $600,000 to benefit digital mammography equipment at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas, the Fourth Annual Circle of Life 100 Luncheon and Fashion Show entertained more than 200 guests with style.

This year’s Circle of Life 100 event was its most successful ever, thanks to a generous $500,000 matching gift from Mrs. Toni Leichtag. Motivating others to support Scripps Encinitas, Mrs. Leichtag donated five dollars for every dollar raised at the event, up to $100,000.

The elegant luncheon on Aug. 5, 2008, honored Encinitas resident Mary Ellen Grant with the 2008 Circle of Life 100 Distinguished Service Award for her dedication and continued service to Scripps Encinitas. The afternoon event also featured a live auction and a high-society fashion show presented by Peaches En Regalia and Ryan’s Collection.
