Scripps Cancer Survivor's Day Preview on NBC 7/39

The 21st annual National Cancer Survivor’s Day is June 7, and hundreds of local survivors will gather to celebrate at Scripps Green Hospital La Jolla. Among the newest advances in the fight against cancer is breast specific gamma imaging, which can uncover hard-to-detect tumors that mammograms sometimes miss.

Scripps recently introduced this new diagnostic procedure, and V Tartar, MD, appeared on NBC 7/39 to discuss the advantages this technology provides to local residents. Dr. Tartar is the director of advanced breast imaging with Scripps Clinic Medical Group at Scripps Green Hospital.
