Scripps Becomes First in U.S. to Use New N95 Respirators for H1N1 Protection

As the H1N1 flu virus continues to spread, the need for N95 respirators is growing, which has caused a national shortage of respirators for health care workers. Scripps Health recently became the first health system in the U.S. to begin equipping its employees with a new type of N95 respirator that provides added protection against microorganisms.

Scripps spoke to NBC 7/39 about how the availability of these new masks is helping it effectively address the health and safety of its employees and patients.
