Stem Cell treatment could reverse symptoms of the disease

Parkinson’s disease is much more than a mobility issue.

Stem cell research taking place at Scripps Clinic, in partnership with The Scripps Research Institute, was profiled by the San Diego Union-Tribune and on KUSI News. The research, which involves eight patients under the care of Melissa Houser, MD,, at Scripps Clinic, could reverse the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease by turning skin cells into dopamine-producing neurons.
