First on the West Coast following FDA approval

Scripps Clinic interventional cardiologist Matthew Price, MD, recently became the first physician on the West Coast to implant the Amplatzer PFO Occluder following the device's approval by the Food and Drug Administration.


The device reduces stroke risk by closing a small hole in the heart.
