Health care information leader and business executive bring significant experience

Health care information leader and business executive bring significant experience

Local business leaders Gene Barduson and Don Goldman were recently named to the Scripps Health Board of Trustees. Both were appointed to a three-year term on the board.


The new trustees bring extensive leadership experience.


“It’s an honor to welcome Gene Barduson and Don Goldman to the Scripps Health Board of Trustees,” said Chris Van Gorder, president and CEO of Scripps Health. “We are very fortunate to have their insight and experience on our side during a very important time in health care.”


Barduson has been a leader in health care informatics for more than three decades and is currently executive chairman of the board for PerfectServe, a comprehensive and secure health care communications and collaboration platform. The longtime executive is also founder and CEO of La Jolla Wellness Studio, which uses advanced technology machines for workouts.


Barduson is a member of the board of trustees at Western University of Health Sciences, which has campuses in Pomona, Calif., and Lebanon, Ore. He received his bachelor's degree in mathematics from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, and his master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Northern Iowa. He lives with his wife, Mary, in La Jolla, and enjoys playing golf.


Goldman has been a business executive for more than three decades and is currently CEO of Intelligent Solutions, a consulting firm that provides strategy, marketing, operations, technology and long-term sustainability plans. He was previously partner and CEO of Texas-based Hennessey Performance, an automotive aftermarket performance enhancement company that holds numerous top speed world records, and executive vice president at Hardware Resources/ Progressive Stamping and Plating, a manufacturer and importer of decorative and functional hardware in Louisiana.


The Point Loma resident received his bachelor's degree in marketing from San Diego State University and is active in community service, including with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Special Olympics and CHP 11-99 Foundation, which benefits California Highway Patrol employees and their families.
