Scripps Health will construct a new medical office building in Oceanside. The 85,000-square-foot facility was approved in a unanimous vote Monday by the Oceanside Planning Commission.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer expanded services to patients in North County,” said Chris Van Gorder, Scripps president and CEO. “We are focused on providing our patients with the services and quality care they’ve come to expect from Scripps, combined with the convenient access that they want – the new Scripps medical office building in Oceanside will accomplish that.”

Located on Jefferson Street near state route 78, the facility will include physician offices, urgent care, comprehensive imaging, outpatient surgery and GI labs. Construction is expected to begin in the fall, with opening anticipated for spring 2020.

Design elements of the three-story facility will feature a fresh, modern look, with a glass façade to allow in natural light. It will be built with sustainability in mind, incorporating solar, as well as energy- and water-efficiency measures.
