Real estate, investment executive brings development experience to post

Real estate development and investment executive Elliot Scott was recently elected to the Scripps Health Board of Trustees for a three-year term.

“I am honored to welcome Elliot Scott to the Scripps Health Board of Trustees,” said Chis Van Gorder, president and CEO of Scripps Health. “Elliot’s real estate investment and development expertise, which he has generously shared for years as a volunteer with Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla and other community organizations, will be invaluable to Scripps Health’s leadership as we continue to grow and evolve to serve the community’s needs.”

Scott has built a successful 24-year career in real estate as the principal of EAS Investments in San Diego. During that time, his company has invested in more than 300 projects across 30 states, including the development of medical, retail and office buildings.

From 2014 through 2018, he was chairman of the Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla Community Advisory Board. He also was part of the Scripps MD Anderson Founders, a group of visionary supporters who each pledged $100,000 a year for three years to help launch Scripps MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Scott serves on the San Diego Jewish Academy Board of Trustees, for which he is treasurer and chairman of the finance committee. He is a member of the oversight committee managing the academy’s completed and successful $15 million fundraising campaign, as well as the development of its new performing arts center. He also helps several charitable organizations as an adviser and donor.

Scott earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from San Diego State University in 1995.

Outside of his professional duties, he enjoys hiking, as well as playing tennis and golf.

He lives in Del Mar with his wife, Lee Diamond Scott, and three daughters, Kayla, 12; Gabrielle, 10; and Alexa, 8.
