We are a very impatient society, and that impatience is killing people. I wish we could make the economy all better all at once. I wish everything could get back to normal, but this is not a normal situation, and we can’t act like it’s a normal situation.
Yes, [the pandemic] will have a psychological toll on us, an economic toll, and a health toll. But if we’re patient, we will get through this. We will rebuild this economy, but more important, we’ll do it with a lot more people alive than dead.
