Raymond Plodkowski, MD, is a weight management, metabolism and nutrition specialist focused on alleviating health complications for overweight and obese patients. Dr. Plodkowski believes that weight management is the key to long-term health.
Many common medical problems, such as high blood pressure, pre-diabetes, diabetes, fatty liver, sleep apnea and joint pain, can be prevented or treated by achieving a healthy weight. He strongly believes in thoroughly explaining the underlying causes of medical problems, so that people can better understand their treatment plan.
Dr. Plodkowski is also a clinical researcher, and he has done numerous research studies in the areas of weight management, pre-diabetes, diabetes, bariatric surgery and other metabolic disorders.
Dr. Plodkowski has been an author on national guidelines, written medical journal articles and book chapters, and also lectures on the treatment of metabolic disorders. As author or co-author, Dr. Plodkowski’s work has also been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals.
He is a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and the National Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists.
In his spare time, he stays active by hiking, stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking. He also enjoys nature photography, which pairs well with his hiking adventures.
