Melissa Ferrari is a physician assistant specializing in hepatology and liver transplant.
Melissa strongly believes in patient education, especially when dealing with the complex issues readily seen in liver disease. When a patient understands why they are ill and how to manage their sickness, they become actively involved in the medical decision making process and are more receptive to medical advice. She strives to develop a provider-patient relationship of trust and confidence.
She received specialty training from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she completed a one year post-graduate fellowship, which was granted through the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease (AASLD). She truly believes that hepatology and transplant are her calling and hopes to continue to work in this field for the remainder of her career.
When she is not caring for patients, she enjoys opera singing, gardening, Japanese culture and her two cats. Now that she lives on the West Coast, in one of the most beautiful cities on the planet, she can foresee many beach days in her future.
