Healing Serenade

A recent article in the San Diego Union Tribune profiles Rod Salaysay, RN, who is better known at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla as the “singing nurse.” After more than three years of working in the trauma and caring daily for people on the precipice of death, Salaysay wanted to offer his patients something more. So, he puts his feelings of hope, love and support into original songs that he sings to them, even if they may not always hear him.
