Raising more than $210,000 to benefit lifesaving cancer care at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego and Chula Vista, the 40th Anniversary Mercy Ball, Tune In to Mercy, treated guests to an exclusive performance by Grammy Award-Winning singer and songwriter Patti Austin.

Held for the first time ever at Anthology in downtown San Diego on Saturday, April 10, 2010, the stylish evening also featured enticing cuisine from executive chef Eric Bauer and a live auction of one-of-a-kind items. Brittany Jones and JD Bols chaired the successful ball in honor of mother and wife, Lisa Bols, who passed away in 2009 after a brave, two-year fight with colon cancer.

Proceeds from Mercy Ball will support Scripps Cancer Center at Scripps Mercy. The evening also contributed to a generous challenge grant from Dick and Kaye Woltman, to help raise $2 million to support an outpatient infusion center and a new women’s breast care center at Scripps Mercy.
