New, Pocket-sized Ultrasound Device at Scripps Green Hospital

Scripps study validates pocket ultrasound device that enables a physician to “look” at a patient’s heart.

The Vscan pocket ultrasound performs bedside echocardiograms.

Scripps Green Hospital is the first of 12 clinical sites in the world previewing a pocket-sized ultrasound device, called Vscan, to see if the new technology will help speed diagnoses, reduce patient wait times and improve physician work flow. San Diego Fox 5 News interviewed David Rubenson, MD, director of Scripps Green Hospital’s cardiac non-invasive laboratory, Rachel Israel, MD, resident physician, and a grateful patient who benefited from the Vscan.

The video as seen on Fox 5 Morning News on June 14, 2010 is no longer available.
