Scripps La Jolla Honors Therapy Dogs at Annual Holiday Party

Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla recently hosted its annual Pet Therapy Holiday Party. The holiday party is an opportunity for the dogs and their handlers to get to know each other and be rewarded for all of their hard work. Throughout the year, 25 certified therapy dogs have provided comfort and companionship by visiting with hospital patients. These visits have helped increase emotional well being, promoted healing, and improved the quality of life for the patients and staff.

Additionally, Hospital Chaplain Rev. John Whitacre, conducted a “Blessing of the Pets." Many hospital staff and patients brought their pets to take part in the blessing.
