Scripps Expert Offers Solution to Cover U.S. Trauma Care Gaps

National trauma care expert Dr. Brent Eastman explores the issue of treating traumatically injured patients in a commentary published Jan. 3 in Modern Healthcare. Dr. Brent Eastman, who is chief medical officer and N. Paul Whittier chair of trauma with Scripps Health, advocates for the development of regional, inclusive trauma systems of care, especially in rural America where timely access to trauma care is most lacking. Dr. Eastman writes that the U.S. needs to demonstrate the political will and provide adequate funding for inclusive trauma systems to become more broadly available throughout America.
